The Wildlife Conservation Society invites you to upload and share your images that highlight the ecological and socioeconomic values of the Vatu-i-Ra Seascape.

Upload pictures showcasing the amazing wildlife and culture in the Vatu-i-Ra Seascape for a chance to feature as part of the campaign to build public support for the protection of land and sea between Fiji’s two main islands! Your pictures will be used to help protect one of the last remaining wild places in the Pacific.

The four main categories are: Underwater critters, Underwater seascapes, Coastal landscapes and Livelihoods and culture.

Include the full name of photographer, caption and contact details.

Submissions are open to Fijians and visitors.

  1. Photograph must be in JPEG format, at greater than 300DPI, and no more than 5MB in size.
  2. All photos submitted must include the full name of photographer, location and category. Each image should be labelled as shown in the example below.
    Photographer_Location_Category (e.g. Brown_Ovalau_Coastal landscapes)
  3. All photos must be submitted by the actual photographer (not a third party).


  1. Competition is open to all photographers, either local or overseas based.
  2. You can enter photographs that you have taken at any time as long as the location is within the seascape.
  3. Any images of children must contain the consent of their parents to enter the photo competition. It is the responsibility of the photographer to get permission.
  4. By entering your photograph(s), you grant the Wildlife Conservation Society the non-exclusive right to use and reproduce the image(s) in conservation materials, on our website and social media pages. Your images will contribute to the conservation of the Vatu-i-Ra Seascape, and will not be used for commercial purposes.
  5. The images remain owned solely by you and credit will be given unless you wish to remain anonymous.
  6. We may receive many competition entries. While we will try to use your image, there is no guarantee that your image will be chosen.
  7. Wildlife Conservation Society does not accept any liability for the publication of unlawfully reproduced images.
